Mercedes participation in motor racing back to the thirties where the contract involved a different set of races were held in different parts of Europe. However, the official entry for the team in the Formula 1 championship for the first time was in 1954 and team unprecedented success with the Argentine world champion Juan Manuel Fangio, who won the title in 1954 and 1955. But soon changed conditions at the end of the year 1955 Mercedes withdrew from the tournament after the disaster in the Le Mans race, which killed 80 spectators.
Absent Mercedes Formula 1 for many years but returned to supply engines for the Sauber team in 1993 and then McLaren in 1995.
The team in 2009 bought Brawn GP and turn it into a Mercedes GP and Recruiting two German drivers world champion driver Michael Schumacher and the talented Nico Rosberg.
Team finished fourth in the championship standings 2010 and in the same place team finished the 2011 season ranked fifth in the season of 2012. Mercedes team won the second place in the 2013 season.
In seasons 2014 and 2015, won the world championship for Formula One with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg .
Mercedes team continues in season 2016 with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
